I bookmarked this article yesterday + I’m so glad I took the time to read it.
Rebecca makes solid points on the subject of Yoga mixed with other hobbies/habits to make is more accessible.
If it makes Yoga more accessible + folks are more likely to go to class, then I’m cool with it, but the Yoga part still needs to be a priority above whatever else you are promoting with it. The class needs to be taught by a well-studied teacher who creates a safe environment for physical + mental exploration.
For the Yoga teachers out there who have found that balance, major props to you! As long as folks realize that what is being presented (or at least the environment it is being presented in) is NOT traditional + is NOT the only element of what the word Yoga encompasses, then you are being truthful + I respect that.
